I want to help you enjoy amazing craft cocktails at home.
And avoid the mistakes I made along the way.
I’m Ross David, and cocktails fascinate me. I started mixing drinks in college, trying to make White Russians like The Big Lebowski. At my graduation party, I made Margaritas, but they were so sour that no one would drink them. In my twenties, I shook up Vodka Martinis in imitation of James Bond. I had no idea what I was doing.
In my thirties, I was fascinated by liquids that floated on other liquids. I made mediocre drinks that looked absolutely stunning. My greatest achievement was “The Smurfette.” It was basically a Cosmo with Blue Curacao, but it was the hit of the party and all the girls wanted one.

I finally figured things out in my forties. I read a lot of cocktail books. I researched history, practiced relentlessly, and experimented continually. I learned how to balance flavors and adjust acidity. I began mixing drinks that people really enjoyed. I studied the classics, and mixed the modern variations. I invented my own recipes. And people loved them.
During COVID lockdown in 2020, I began doing virtual mixology classes for friends. And I realized how badly people needed good cocktails at home.
So I started this blog. I hope I can help you take your cocktail craft to the next level by sharing recipes, ingredients, and techniques.
Because we all need a good drink.
